First day in Louisiana.

The ride in late last night was an adventure. The cab driver must have been 92 years old and blind as a bat. We managed to get slightly lost once we made it over the I-10 span across Lake Ponchatrain where we found ourselves at the end of a dirt dead end in the middle of nowhere. Fortunately, the place I’m staying is not too far from nowhere, so we were able to back track a bit and find it. I tipped the guy a ten spot and gave him my best “good luck” handshake in hopes that I wouldn’t find him driving in circles when I left for the location scout the next morning.

Day 1. After having lived with this script for over two years and countless false starts, I’m finally sitting in the production office that will be producing this sucker. It’s not glamorous, but it real. Adam Del Deo, (aka Blackberry Boy) is our perpetually optimistic producer that has been a driving force to get things done.

The big issue at the moment is rounding out our cast. We have our female lead, a couple of offers out to a few choice contenders for the male lead and supporting roles, but all is still up in the air. Drives me crazy. We shoot in three weeks and I still don’t know who I’ll be directing. Gotta love this business.

Hi Dan, I found this site from a posting on IMDb. How much of the script is like the Danish film and who are the other writers that you wrote it with? Thanks, James.
