Tech Scout
Up at 7am for an all day tech scout. For those of you who don't know what a tech scout is, basically it's when the heads of all the departments pile into bus and drive to all the locations you have picked out for the film. Supposedly, everyone is to get a run down of all the shots so each department head can plan accordingly. The MLRP (Murphy's Law Reduction Principle).
We finally rolled into the production office parking lot at around 8pm. By the time I got back to the apartment, I was dead to the world. Of course, my brain wouldn't shut down, because all I could think about was how the hell we're going to pull off the few, but VERY important effects in this film on the budget we have to work with. "Less is More" is the phrase of the month here. It's just another way of saying, "Don't spend any more money."
