Production Day 24
I can see light at the end of the tunnel.
Finally, we're on the stage. You can't believe how happy I am to get to a place where we're either not battling the light, elements or mosquitoes. On the other hand, we have our two biggest days here. Every little insert shot we've shelved during the shoot comes back to roost at the end of the schedule, thus adding several shots to an already full call sheet. Thank God for B-cam!
We started off shooting Sofie in the bathroom, supposedly at the party house, freaking out over the key chain. The set Bruton and the gang put together both of the bathroom and the upstairs bedrooms of the lake house look spot on.
The big deal for today was shooting the first mud gag, where Megan is lying in bed during a dream sequence and mud rises up around her, eventually overtaking her and submerging her entire body. Unfortunately, when the mud got up to the sheets, everything started to float, the pillow, the blanket, etc. It was a huge mess. I finally had to shut it down since it was just not working. Needless to say, it was our last shot of the day, and it was a bit of a bummer not being able to pull it off, but rather than force it the wrong way, I lobbied to redo it tomorrow the right way. Hopefully, we'll have time. I just felt bad for Lizzy having to get dunked in mud right before bed.
