Production Days 19-20

Still at the Ruins.

Because we had to push our call today, we were making a mad dash to shoot all we needed before sun down. It was crazy. Megan running through woods. Megan getting stuck in the mud. Megan seeing the creepy dog in woods. Megan discovering the ruins, etc. One frenzied shot after another. All the while, eyeballing the sun as it sinks like a rock as each minute clicks by. We managed to get 95% of what we needed, save for a couple of POV shots of Megan as she emerges at the ruins. We'll just have to get those later. (Famous last words.)

Tonight is a big rain night. Kenny, our special effects guru, is setting up rain towers all through the ruins so we can have a long steadi-cam run as (spoiler) Megan gets chased by Christian in the closing moments of the film. It's bad enough that we have more mud than we need here, without adding to it with our own rain. We also had to shoot the green screen shots here on location where Malin does her "crumple" in front of Christian. It's kind of surreal lighting a huge 20 x 20 green screen in the middle of the swamp. Hopefully, we won't have to paint out twenty thousand moths in post.
